This video will make you a better sewist (Compilation)

We all start at the beginning. It's so easy to compare yourself to those you see online and feel inadequate. But there are no short cuts in sewing. The only way to get better is to keep making things.

So that's what this video is about. One of my very first sewing projects, up close in personal in all it's unperfect glory. To remind you all who have joined me on this YouTube channel that I didn't start off as an expert. I started as a beginner just like you.

So join me as I revisit one of my earliest sewing projects and remake it now that I have the skills and experience of a professional costume maker.

I know I make fun of Fabricland in this video but I do also genuinely love and use Fabricland all the time. The fabric for my 1950s Slip came from Fabricland:    • Making a 1950s Slip Dress from a Vint...   I also bought all the fabric I used to make scrubs for the NHS from Fabricland. They have lots of good quality fabrics for very cheap. They just also happen to have garish, orange monstrosities like this poly-satin.

Also for those who didn't go to school in the England/Wales, GCSE stands for General Certificate of Secondary Education. When I was at school that was the end of compulsory education at age 16. For each subject you studied at GCSE there was a coursework element, usually done in class, and a final exam. I believe this is all different now. So this outfit was made in class over the course of about 6 months.
