Through our community workshops, Local Land Services aims to empower local land managers with the knowledge and tools they need to protect and rehabilitate koala habitats. By revegetating areas, fencing out remnant zones, and implementing effective weed and pest management programs, land managers can create vital corridors and stepping stones for koalas and other wildlife such as birds and gliders. Together, we can support this iconic Australian species and ensure their survival.

Our efforts are showing promising results, especially in regions like the Southern Tablelands, where koala populations are expanding. With innovative techniques like acoustic monitoring and collaborations with the Illawarra Land Council, we are making significant strides in understanding and preserving koala habitats. Traditional knowledge combined with modern technology maximises our positive impact, fostering a deeper connection between people and the land.

Community involvement is crucial in this mission. By reporting sightings and participating in our programs, community members play an essential role in koala conservation.
