If you're like me and enjoy wearing scarves on your head but find that they move and slide very easily - especially slick fabrics like silk or chiffon, here is how I secure my scarves to stay in place all day. I used to get so frustrated having to adjust my scarf every 5 minutes because it was sliding and slipping everywhere, but I didn't want to use bulky bobby pins that would be visible. Inspired by my intrigue and appreciation of historical and vintage clothing/fashion, I tried using straight pins to secure my scarves, and I have done so since!
I use combs to give the pins an anchor point. Using a small, flathead pin (for limited visibility), I put it through the scar and through the hair that is over the comb and back up through the scarf again. This keeps the end of the pin off my head so there is no worry of poking. Even with not so gentle tugging, the scarf does not move!
