Passive Intermodulation (PIM) has been around for a long time. Still, as we add capacity to the airwaves (new bands, more carriers, and denser deployments), the amount and impact of PIM is also increasing.

The resulting elevated uplink noise floor, sometimes called “High Receive Total Wideband Power” or RTWP, impacts coverage, capacity, and ultimately, quality of service.

Electro Rent and VIAVI Solutions are pleased to present this session on alternative methods for troubleshooting uplink noise caused by PIM via RFoCPRI Analysis.

In this session, you will learn about the following:

• The fundamentals of PIM
• The differences between “PIM Testing” and “PIM Detection”
• An overview of CPRI and RF analysis via the CPRI interface
• How to gain real-time visibility of the uplink on all receivers as conditions change, including user traffic, carrier power raised/lowered/off, load generation, and the placement of PIM mitigation materials

We will also share real-world examples and provide a live demonstration.
