12 months ago, the Boston Celtics were celebrating their record setting 18th NBA championship - the crowning achievement of YEARS of hard work for guys that had been on the team for nearly a decade, for a franchise that had been to 5 of that last 7 Eastern Conference Finals (but fell short of the title every time) and a moment that redeemed a 6 games Finals loss to the Warriors 2 years prior.

And just 1 offseason later - basically the entire team is gone.

If you look at the Celtics top 8 rotation in the 2024 NBA Playoffs there is
Jayson Tatum - hurt and out for the year
Jaylen Brown
Jrue Holiday - traded to Portland
Derrick White
Al Horford - gone
Sam Hauser
Payton Pritchard
Kristaps Porzingis - traded to Hawks

That is HALF of a championship rotation, just completely disappearing for the Celtics in just 1 year

And I actually don’t think people are processing just how bad the Celtics are going to be this year... and why this all happened.
