Working on my large scale WWII Tank Collection with the repaint of 21st Century Toys' awesome 1/16th German PANTHER Ausf.G Panzer!

Not much to say other than I have had this wicked beastie for some 25 years or so, in storage and unaltered, and I finally decided to upgrade this one, and my 1/18th Tiger I (video to come!) because I have a super duper 1/16 scale King Tiger coming soon! SO...with these three I will have my favorite tank designs in large scale form!

This guy is really just aged. Weathered. I kept the base colors and airbrushed pattern of the toy as it was, as I have no airbrush, and it did look great. So, I simply touched it up here and there, repainted the treads and dinged and chipped it up some, adding rust and other colors like dirt and some other browns, to just make it less toy-like.
I only used Vallejo acrylics and mostly burnt umber, oily steel, black, a mix of yellows and greens to match the existing colors, and some old school Testors Acryl Burnt Sienna for some true rust. Still had an old bottle around!

Setting up for my showing of the 1/18th Tiger I toy repaint, it also is a bit of work, and, it has a partial interior, where this Panther did not. The Tiger I is a very nice piece as a toy, and is almost in scale. It always bothered me that there was no Tiger II made in this group, and when the Two-in-one King Tiger model by Trumpeter came around, I was on it! At last, I will have my three cat display!

And do feel free to, as I can always use some criticism in this area. (Weathering tanks is an art unto itself, and I am new at such a large scale.)

Les out!
