A split of triumphant melodicism from two Finnish artists, both of whom will be familiar to regular followers of the channel. Both bands are characterised by their own takes on stratospheric riffs, savage pacing and feral vocals.

Xavarthan opens the split up with a misty foray into the marshlands, returning with an explosive series of richly intoned riffs and primal gnashing that doesn’t let up through his side, until the light fades and an acoustic segue from Northeldir takes us into rangier and wilder territories with a slightly rawer sound, and no less ferocity.
