Qui-Gon Jinn is a prominent character in the Star Wars series, played by actor Liam Neeson. He is a Jedi Knight who was once a member of the Jedi Council, but he had a disagreement with the Council because of some independent thinking and different opinions on the traditional Jedi order. Qui-Gon Jinn is generally regarded as a very intuitive Jedi, who pays more attention to individual perception and telepathy than many members of the Jedi Council, rather than rigid rules and rituals.
