Beyond Shadowgate is the third chapter of the NES Shadowgate series done by the original developers. I think you can get the game in an actual NES cartridge, but the version I played in on Steam.

I die a lot in this game. Thankfully, you don't lose anything except a minute or two when you die. Try everything :-)
