This video demonstrates how to change the water filters on a Watts standard system, but the process may vary slightly with other models. Follow these steps and your manufacturer's recommendations for the best results.

Supplies:

Bucket
Towel
Water filter wrench
Dish soap
Pliers
Drain hose
TDS meter

Changing the Prefilters:

1) Shut off water: Turn off the water source and tank valves.
2) Release pressure: Activate the faucet lever to relieve system pressure.
3) Loosen housings: Use a filter wrench to loosen the filter housings.
4) Remove old filters: Remove the old filters from the housings.
5) Clean housings: Clean the housings with dish soap and rinse thoroughly.
6) Install new filters: Place new filters in the housings.
7) Reconnect housings: Reconnect the housings, twisting until snug (do not overtighten).

Flushing the System (Prefilters):

1) Connect drain hose: Replace the water outlet line with a drain hose.
2) Drain to bucket: Place the other end of the drain hose in a bucket.
3) Turn on water: Replace the water source line and turn on the valve.
4) Flush: Allow water to flow through the system for about one minute.

Replacing the RO Membrane:

1) Turn off water: Turn off the water valve.
2) Disconnect tubing: Disconnect the tubing from the membrane housing.
3) Replace membrane: Disconnect and replace the old membrane.
4) Replace housing cap: Replace the housing cap.
5) Reconnect tubing: Reconnect the tubing.

Replacing the Polishing Filter:

1) Disconnect tubing: Disconnect the tubing from the polishing filter.
2) Replace filter: Replace the filter, ensuring the flow arrow points toward the outlet side of your unit.
3) Flushing the System (Polishing Filter):

Connect water source: Connect the water source to the outlet end of the polishing filter.

1) Connect drain hose: Connect the drain hose to the opposite end.
2) Turn on water: Turn on the water valve.
3) Flush: Flush until your TDS meter reads less than 10.

Reconnecting the System:

1) Turn off water: Turn off the water valve.
2) Disconnect hoses: Disconnect the water source and drain hose from the polishing filter.
3) Reconnect tubing: Reconnect the polishing filter tubing.
4) Replace the waterline: Replace the waterline.
5) Turn on valves: Turn on the water and tank valves.
6) Check for leaks: Check for any leaks.
