And just like that I have speedran Tigrex with every melee weapon. At first I thought IG would have a miserable matchup with Tiggy but after some testing, I came up with a strategy that makes it the most consistent weapon against him. There are a lot of weapons that follow the same formula, he gives you an opening, you stagger him, then get some more hits in during the stagger to build up enough damage to flinch him again as soon as you get another opening, rinse and repeat. What sets IG apart from the other weapons that follow this strategy is that if done right, it only takes the forward + A attack to stagger him, which means you can snipe him out of unfavorable attacks like the charge (which I didn't get to show off here unfortunately) while other weapons need multiple attacks for a flinch. It can also punish turnaround charges and rock throws which even GS gets cooked by. On top of that, its dps is high enough to run para instead of element and still meet the stagger threshhold as long as Tiggy is enraged and you're at purple sharpness. Which is also why I went for X attacks instead of forward + A when those conditions weren't met btw. Most of my attempts were in the 2'50-3'00 range. What you're seeing here is the lucky attempt in which I got an early 2nd para and quick extract refills so that I didn't have to sacrifice an opening to get those back. My whole schtick is farming Tigrex content so maybe I'll review every weapon matchup against him in a video and do a ranking or something.
