Fully managed PostgreSQL hosting at ScaleGrid includes a custom-built PostgreSQL Monitoring Console to help you optimize your deployment performance. This gives you all the metrics you need to monitor your ongoing production server.

Simply click on the Monitoring link to access your PostgreSQL Monitoring Console.

At a high level, we show you all the different operations for PostgreSQL, including inserts, updates, deletes, and so on. All of the graphs are click-to-zoom, so you can select a particular area and zoom into it.

You can select a particular server from the top dropdown list, select from the last hour up to the last year, and also your time zone.

We provide you with all of your OS metrics, so you can monitor your CPU, system load, disk, network, etc. Click into a chart to see an expanded view of the graph, as well as the load averages, and zoom into a particular time range.

You can also review the various PostgreSQL metrics, such as connections, transaction ID usage, lock usage, conflicts and deadlocks, checkpoint metrics, and more. So everything that you need to monitor your PostgreSQL server is available through your ScaleGrid Monitoring Console.

You can also compare metrics across two servers if you’re leveraging a multi-node cluster. This will lay out your metrics side-by-side which makes it very easy to find any discrepancies in usage on either of your servers.

You can also create alerts on all of the metrics that are mentioned, and customize your alert rule settings for when you wish to be notified.
