There are many, many ways to make a great, all-natural toothpaste using a variety of ingredients in addition to what I mention in this video. For example, you could use coconut oil, diatomaceous earth, calcium powder made from eggshells, and activated charcoal. So how do you know which ingredients to use?

I think the best thing to do when you're getting started with making your own toothpaste is to assess your needs. What are some things that you struggle with? These could be issues such as teeth sensitivity, cavities, gum recession, bad breath, week/brittle teeth, poor circulation to gums and teeth, etc.

Most, if not all, of these issues can be addressed naturally. Let these issues guide your DIY toothpaste research and lead you in crafting a toothpaste made perfectly suited to meet your needs.

Natural oral hygiene is also greatly affected by a healthy diet (limited sugar and starches).
