Snake Pass is located in the Peak District National Park in the United Kingdom. It runs between Glossop in Derbyshire to Ladybower Reservoir in Derbyshire and then continues to Sheffield in Yorkshire. The name Snake was adopted due to the winding and serpentine-like nature of the road as it crosses the hills and moorlands of the Peak District.

I rode my motorcycle along the road on a wet and windy day in February 2024. The weather conditions where challenging, however in good conditions you could easily get carried away and caught out by some of the bends as they tighten up. The road can be challenging and offers an exhilarating ride in the beautiful landscape of the Peak District.

Snake Pass is 26 miles (42km) and rises to a height of 512m (1,679ft) above sea level and although there are no physical speed camera's it is widely know that police use unmarked cars and mobile camera units.

You should absolutely ride Snake Pass and it should be on every Bikers bucket list.
