Megastar Chiranjeevi's Khaidi No 150 is the Telugu remake of the Tamil blockbuster Kaththi, which starred Ilayathalapathy Vijay in the lead.
Chiranjeevi was quoted by DC as saying, "I was hunting for the best story to make a comeback. While there were several good stories, I was looking for something phenomenal and that's when A.R. Murugadoss' Kaththi came our way. And at that time, Vijay himself came forward and told me that if I wanted to remake the film, he'd make sure we get the film rights. It was a very touching gesture and I am thankful to him for bringing this film to me."
