Gilgit-Baltistan: Barren Lands go Green

Описание к видео Gilgit-Baltistan: Barren Lands go Green

In the semi-arid mountainous Pakistan-administered region of Gilgit-Baltistan, an ambitious water infrastructure network spreading hundreds of kilometres is helping almost 30,000 small-scale farmers double their farmlands.

Local communities had been hoping to build irrigation schemes for decades, but it was with IFAD's support that water canals were built, as well as roads to take produce to markets.

The terms used in the video do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of IFAD concerning the delimitation of frontiers or boundaries, or the authorities thereof.
