The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) achieved another successful milestone by launching the second-generation navigation satellite, NVS-01, into orbit. The GSLV rocket, equipped with a cryogenic upper stage, flawlessly carried out the mission. NVS-01 plays a crucial role in enhancing the country's regional navigation system, providing accurate and real-time navigation services. The satellite features advanced capabilities, including navigation payloads in L1, L5, and S bands, as well as an indigenously developed rubidium atomic clock. The successful launch marked ISRO's 15th flight of the GSLV rocket and demonstrated the organization's commitment to meeting India's positioning, navigation, and timing needs. The NavIC system, formerly known as Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), offers a wide range of applications, including terrestrial, aerial, and marine navigation, precision agriculture, and location-based services. With NavIC's services interoperable with other global navigation satellite systems, such as GPS and GLONASS, it further strengthens India's capabilities in the field of satellite navigation.
