The ceremony was jointly organized by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 (Ladner) and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 289 (Tsawwassen). Ladner Legion's Hugh Johnson was the narrator and host of the event. Prayers and scripture readings were conducted by Padre Rev. Graham Witcher, and ceremonial music was performed by the Delta Choral Society. Bugler Marilynn Turner played the 'Last Post, and S/Sgt. Piper Corey Tillyer played the 'Lament' during the event.

Delta Mayor George V. Harvie and Member of Parliament for Delta Carla Dawn Qualtrough (Minister of Sport and Physical Activity of Canada) also addressed people at the event.

Earlier, three squadrons of cadets (819 Skyhawk Squadron, 828 Hurricane Squadron, 1867 Seaforth Highlanders), Delta Police Pipe Band, Delta Police, cubs, scouts, brownies, girl guides, Delta Fire and Emergency Services and the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue, among other organizations took part in a parade from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61 in Ladner Village to the Cenotaph at Memorial Park.

Canadians pause for a moment of silence on Nov. 11 every year in remembrance of the men and women who have served and continue to serve the country during times of war, conflict and peacekeeping. It has been 103 years since the Armistice of Compiègne went into effect, ending hostilities between the Allies and Germany — and marking the end of the First World War.

The community Remembrance Day ceremony was organized by the Ladner Legion and the City of Delta.

In North Delta, the Kennedy House Seniors Society and the City of Delta also organized a community Remembrance Day ceremony at the North Delta Social Heart Plaza.
