Band Bio & History:
Formed in 2013 in Hartford, Connecticut, Shadow of Intent began as a studio project led by vocalist Ben Duerr and guitarist/producer Chris Wiseman (also of Currents). Originally inspired by Halo video game lore, their early material quickly gained traction for its unique blend of cinematic symphonics and relentless deathcore brutality.

Their debut, Primordial (2016), introduced fans to their concept-driven style, while Reclaimer (2017) elevated them into the larger deathcore conversation. By the release of Melancholy (2019), the band had evolved beyond their Halo-inspired origins, exploring themes of mortality, despair, and human corruption — backed by soaring orchestral elements and devastating heaviness.

Their 2022 record, Elegy, pushed their sound further into blackened deathcore territory, drawing critical praise and placing them alongside heavyweights like Lorna Shore, Fit For An Autopsy, and Thy Art Is Murder. In 2024, Shadow of Intent unleashed Across the Styx, a record cementing them as innovators in the symphonic deathcore genre.
