Curse of the Forsaken Classic is an upcoming update for my Warcraft 3 Curse of the Forsaken custom campaign, which continues the Forsaken's story after the end of the Frozen Throne, leading into a re-imagined story of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King told through the Forsaken's viewpoint. This update will make the campaign fully compatible with the most recent version of Warcraft 3: Reforged, but with classic graphics, as the title suggests.
This update was originally intended only to fix some glitches introduced to Warcraft 3: Reforged with the return of custom campaigns, but as I worked on the update, a whole new host of ideas came to me. After five years of not working on anything in Warcraft 3, focused on other creative projects, I rediscovered a bit of that old passion I once had for these stories.
Therefore, with some new knowledge in my mind, as well as a different viewpoint on some things than I had five years ago, I decided to expand the scope of the update into an overhaul that will create the most definitive version of the campaign so far. However, this means the update will take longer to be finished than intended, so for now, the estimated release date is sometime in 2024, hopefully within the first half of the year.
Some of the major changes include:
Two chapters to be revamped, including Azjol-Nerub.
Expanded, updated and revamped factions, including whole new Scarlet Crusade and Kirin Tor factions.
Updated maps with a focus on a more straightforward user experience (for example, some main quests are slightly simplified, the difficulties are rebalanced so the player can have more breathing room on normal difficulty, etc.)
Overhauled AI player system, ensuring consistent and reliable computer players.
Updated storytelling and cinematics with some new additions from World of Warcraft.
New side quests with unique item rewards, and more.

How long will it take you to finish the update?
I hope to finish it by the first half of 2025.
Will you make a Reforged version of your campaigns?
No, I have no plans to do that.
Can I reforge your campaigns?
No, I am not interested in creating Reforged versions of my campaigns.
Will you add AI voices to the campaign?
No, I have no intention of using AI voices.
Will you also update Rise of the Blood Elves?
That is my intention, but we will see if I have time after I finish this update.
Will you make a new campaign?
No, my interest in Warcraft 3 custom campaigns does not extend beyond my two campaigns.
