Is Britain Broken? | Daniel Hannan

Описание к видео Is Britain Broken? | Daniel Hannan

We were delighted to have Lord Daniel Hannan to discuss the problems facing Britain and how it can return to a sense of balance.

In the Anglosphere, the death of Queen Elizabeth II signaled the closure of an epoch and promoted deep introspection. This was not helped by the fact that in Britain itself the country had three prime ministers in a little over six weeks in 2022, crippling its international credibility and ability to exert leadership. Meanwhile, Britain is mired in nation-wide strikes and an energy crisis.

Why is the Tory government in disarray? What’s wrong with the Labor Opposition? Despite leaving the EU can Britain be a leader in the region? And can Britain be taken seriously as a reliable security partner in the Indo-Pacific region?

Lord Daniel Hannan is a leading British writer and journalist. He is a weekly columnist with the UK Sunday Telegraph and author of several prominent books, including The New Road to Serfdom: A Warning to America and Inventing Freedom: How the English-Speaking Peoples Made the Modern World. In 2018, Dan delivered the annual CIS John Bonython lecture on the perils of identity politics.
