This is an all standing total body prenatal Pilates workout. We'll use a mini band and a light set of hand weights or wrist weights. You don't have to be pregnant to benefit from this class! I'll cue as if pregnant, but we have some great work for EVERYONE in this all standing Pilates flow.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:
We start with a warm up, opening up through the side body and midback. We then move into some work for the abductors and obliques. Upper body will be challenged all throughout class, and we'll especially challenge back and shoulders in our lunge-to-deadlift series.

We finish class by centering off with squat work and and upper body series that ties front of the body to back body work.

I don't want to label this a second trimester Pilates class because every pregnancy is so different—you absolutely may be comfortable doing the movements in this class throughout your third trimester as well. For reference though, I am 17 weeks along in this video.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
—Resistance band loop (I'm using medium) - this is the set I use http://amzn.to/2r952Ai
—Light hand weights/wrist weights (I'm using 2lbs)

In addition to being a STOTT trained Pilates Instructor, I am a Pregnancy & Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (certified through CES). So you're in good hands! That being said, I'm not there in the room with you to form-correct and give individual guidance. You should always consult with your doctor before partaking in a new form of movement. If anything doesn't feel right with your body or causes pain, stop. Every pregnancy is different, and your doctor's advice trumps any guidance I provide in these prenatal Pilates videos.
