Editors - Reading Festival 25th August 2013

Описание к видео Editors - Reading Festival 25th August 2013

I'm an honest host, and so I have to start by saying that there's an audio glitch at the beginning of Papillon which saw the volume drop away completely. It's present in the source material, I'm afraid, but it's literally just the first couple of seconds that's missing. However, the full uncut audio is available in MP3 form from the Archive using the link further down. Sorry about that, folks ;)

Here's the band's 2013 appearance at the Reading Festival courtesy of previous blog contributor and all around good person, gracz54. Thanks once again for your generous nature and making your work available to us here at the Archive. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that the shows from 2013 were the infancy of the current incarnation of the band we're digging in 2020. The magic that made them what they became is present, even if they were still really just developing as a unit.

When this show was re-broadcast, the prudes at the BBC got rid of the "get fucked" part in ERM=BD, which ruined the flow of the track and lessened its impact in the process. This version, however, is sourced from the live stream and as such it is completely uncensored and with that oh-so-terribly-offensive word intact. When you watch it, you'll notice that they did put up a banner about 5 seconds after Mr Smith delivers the line to apologise to their viewers. Hilarious.

If we're being pedantic, there should be apologies made for the band having to leave their gloom coffins and play in the daylight again. Good lord, would we expect ice-skaters to perform on a beach? Hell no! They need ice like Editors need darkness. Don't let that dissuade you though, take the ticket and enjoy the show ;)
