The North Downs Way Canterbury Loop | Wildcamp Bigbury Camp | Hiking Kent | Tom Outdoors | Part 1

Описание к видео The North Downs Way Canterbury Loop | Wildcamp Bigbury Camp | Hiking Kent | Tom Outdoors | Part 1

Hola Amigos,

After (nearly) completing the North Downs Way, myself and Tom (Tom Outdoors) planned on doing the less walked Canterbury loop. The walk starts at Boughton Lees, where the route splits, either directly to Dover, or up to Canterbury.

We parked in Deal (near Dover) and got a lift to the starting point from one of Toms subscribers - Geoff (Thank you for the lift!!). Once dropped off there, we were on our own until we reached the finishing point.

It turns out we decided to walk during a storm, it was pretty wet and windy and had an offical name - Storm Alex. We trekked to Bigbury Camp, where we wildcamped, and pitched up in the dark.

Bigbury Camp is the only confirmed Iron Age hill fort in east Kent and is thought to be where Julius Ceasar based himself during his first attack on England.

The next morning, after realising our clothes were still wet, and would continue to stay wet, we walked to 'Go Outdoors' in Canterbury to buy some new threads. We also found a local laudrette to quickly dry off our old wet clothes.

This journey was pretty long, over a couple of days, so I have split the videos into parts. This is part 1.

I hope you enjoy our walk and camp!
