Vlog 28: I have a Hang Glider!!!! Wills Wing Falcon 4-145!

It’s been almost three years since I started hang gliding. I actively started looking for a used hang glider in Fall of 2023. My instructor Steve Wendt was looking out for a good used glider for me. But then he passed away all of the sudden early this year. I was renting his Alpha 180 the whole time at his flight park. I can’t do that anymore, and as Steve said to me too, I’m ready for next level glider.

This year so far has been extremely difficult…felt like hard to keep my motivation up and stay in a positive light…

I had hard time finding a used glider in my size within my budget. I found one in Canada, it was an older Falcon and how to get it to me was questionable so I let that go. Second one was in Utah. That one ended up being too big…. I felt so defeated… but Takeo-san & Masayo-san gave me an extremely generous offer, sold me their Falcon 4-145 for a great price. They short packed and arranged a shipping for me… did the hardest part of the glider relocation for me.

This sport has very special place in my heart and life now. I have to believe that I can turn things around and stay the course even if it changes the route I initially planned.

I’m forever thankful to receive this glider and my plan is to take a great care of it and keep it for the rest of my flying life. I can’t wait to learn to fly my boy Blue and go on many adventures with him!!!
