Taming of the Warrumbungle Mare.

After a 2022 casual tour through the Warrumbungle Ranges, I found a wonderful story from balladeer Reg Poole of an outlaw mare who roamed and ruled the ranges until a wiry, sunburnt, stranger found her and tamed her.

Looking through my photos of that trip, I realised that I had several photos matching the scenery of the mare’s home territory.

This is the story of the outlaw and my ramblings around its home territory.

Murals photographed are on the Tooraweenah Caravan Park fence, a private dwelling and the recreation ground toilet block.
