Thirty-four percent of maternal deaths in the country are attributed to postpartum hemorrhage, a condition in which a woman experiences excessive bleeding after delivery. But now a simple device has been developed to save lives. And yes it involves a balloon.
Uterine ballon Tamponade is a medical device which involves a condom, catheter, syringe, and strings that is inserted into the uterus to control bleeding.
NTV''s Rose wangui was in Garissa county and now reports on how the life-saving intervention has had an impact especially in rural areas.
