For the past two years, the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce has paid homage to minority and women-owned small businesses, and the efforts and contributions of corporations, financial institutions, organizations and entities that foster minority business development during MED week.

Minority Enterprise Development Week (MED Week) 2024 2.0 during the month of October 2024 offers a venue for small and medium sized businesses to access information, tools, and resources to grow their businesses both domestically and internationally through networking events, workshops, and issue forums.

The events that compose MED Week are meant to raise awareness among minority business owners, and the larger business community and support these businesses in their efforts to grow to scale.

The recognition and support provided by events like MED Week are essential in bolstering the growth and sustainability of small businesses.

This event will have a panel consisting of various business owners who will share how they have been able to scale their business, increase the efficiency of their business in various areas such as marketing, cutting cost, and tools businesses can use to grow their business such as affordable crm, and how they can learn from what large enterprise have done to increase revenue.

The event will afford ample time to network and discuss ways for a small business to improve their business landscape and increase profits.

“MED WEEK will continue to fuel the growth of small business in New York State well into the future. The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.’s insight and knowledge of resources in New York State gives the chamber a unique advantage of helping its small business owners who are members of the chamber, and its wider network grow to scale.

MED WEEK is also about leveraging your network of businesses through information on how to grow customer base, enter new markets, access capital through grants and contracting opportunities.

The week's events aim to raise awareness of minority business owners and the broader business community.

The ultimate goal of MED Week is to increase the size and scope of small business owners and eventually expand it into a MED Month by 2025.
