PANDIT RAMKANAI DAS is a music maestro, folk lyric collector and a great musician in Bangladesh. He was born and brought up in a family where music was tradition. He is one of the best performers of classical music, especially kheyal. From folk to classical, he has achieved excellence in all forms of music. He has made a remarkable contribution to Bangla music & literature by collecting almost lost & collected the songs. He also recorded them in original lyric and tune. He is not only a renowned classical artist, but also has been one of the few people who have worked to continue the practice of classical music in Bangladesh. RAMKANAI DAS was born on 1935 in Sunamgunj District (Shalla Thhana). His father Rashiklal Das, & mother, Divya Mayi Das, were folk singer, lyricist, and composer.
