Decarbonised Energy System: Green Hydrogen and Storage

Описание к видео Decarbonised Energy System: Green Hydrogen and Storage

This is a recording of a talk organised by the IMechE's South Essex Area and was delivered on the 1st May 2024 at Anglia Ruskin University by Henrik Stiesdal, Founder and Chief Technical Officer of Stiesdal.
Green hydrogen will play a central role in the decarbonisation of the energy system. Produced through electrolysis, it offers a carbon-neutral alternative for diverse applications, from industrial processes to transportation. Its scalable potential, integration with renewable sources, and usefulness for energy backup position it as a catalyst in our journey toward a sustainable energy paradigm.

Henrik is the wind power pioneer who built his first test turbine in 1976 and sold license to commercial design to Vestas in 1979, kick-starting today’s wind industry. He was the Technical Manager of Bonus Energy from 1988, then CTO of Siemens Wind Power from 2004 to 2014. He installed the world’s first offshore wind farm in 1991 and holds more than 1000 patents.
