El Camino Village/Alondra Park -- Community Clean Up (WMLA)

Описание к видео El Camino Village/Alondra Park -- Community Clean Up (WMLA)

As part of the Del Aire/Wiseburn/El Camino Village/Alondra Park franchise agreement, Waste Management - LA Metro has to host an annual community clean up event where residents can put out just about any bulky item at the curb and WM will haul it away. Typically, WM runs four garbage trucks in the area and one truck to collect any E-Waste set out. Here are all the trucks collecting in the El Camino Village and Alondra Park areas.

(0:00) - 363430: Upon arriving in Alondra, we saw Antonio and Jesse running the truck collecting in a pretty rough area. I wanted to see how this truck ran since it's just about brand new (arrived earlier this year in February). Pretty cool to see WM get a "Think Green, Think Clean" rear loader for bulk since it's mostly been carry can front loaders for as long as I can remember. Still prefer front loaders overall.

(1:26) - 308322: Here it is! LA Metro's infamous "Monster" - a beautiful 2000 Volvo WG McNeilus Rear Loader. Two weeks ago, when Mike, Alex, and I went to the Wiseburn area to check out the clean up, we found this truck finishing up, the third time it has randomly appeared after supposedly being retired. Hoping to get more video, Alex and I returned today and found this truck really quickly. Here is Brian and Enrique running the awesome Monster truck. You will see some pretty nasty and weird stuff thrown out in this area - including a car bumper. But the Monster packed it all down! It was so fun to see this truck at work, sounded great and I was really impressed considering this was my first rear load experience. Another neat thing about this truck is that it is an old Napa Garbage truck, bought in 2000 and sent to Los Angeles Hauling in 2006.

(6:49) - 210607: After we found the RLs, we looked for the two FLs in the area hoping one of them might be an LE/Wittke. Found this truck first being ran by Manuel (from Manhattan Beach and is a driver that I've filmed before) and Francisco, a County driver.

(8:28) - 308322: More of Brian and Enrique on their last stop of the day. Got to see them tip a couple carts which was really neat to see! Especially since one of the carts was an FA Rehrig and the other was an ex-BFI Otto.

(9:33) - 672944: Here is the little E-Waste truck that WM runs. During the first week of the clean up, a driver from Long Beach named Ricardo was working alongside the Monster in this little truck. He was super nice and knew all about the whole YouTube thing, and since then, he has given me tons of information regarding this clean up that really made filming so much easier.

(13:43) - 210750: Here is the last truck that WM ran for the clean up with Mesquita and Jairo behind the wheel. They collected the remaining street and finished up.

So despite what I was told and thought myself about the set out rate, the Waste Management crews all finished by 9:30, about an hour earlier than the first week. Thoroughly satisfied with what I was able to see and film, these clean ups have been great!

Huge thanks to the supervisor Patrick and all the WM drivers! Another big shout out to Ricardo for all his help getting me info on the clean up! This video is dedicated to you, Ricardo! And lastly a thanks to Alex for taking me out here twice to check out this awesome event (and not to mention my first RL experience)!

Hope you all enjoy this video! Comments are always appreciated!
