Our works at Mountbatten House, Basingstoke (AKA The Hanging Gardens of Basingstoke) are progressing at rapid pace, and it’s already looking much improved! Originally designed by Peter Foggo (Arup) for CField Construction, the site is considered one of the most important modernist architectural properties in the UK.


A key priority of this Grade II listed building refurbishment is to repurpose the original materials throughout the upgrade. As the video shows, there are multiple failed glazing units to replace (more than 1,100!) but with the agreement of ‪@EnglishHeritage‬ and ‪@HistoricEngland‬, we’re replacing the original gaskets, EPDM, glazing shelves, as well as manually adding drainage to the transoms and mullions to improve the performance of the property.
