From the first time I set foot on the grounds of the Kerrville Folk Festival, it felt like home. Folks like Deb and Lindsey made me feel like family, and I heard songs that both inspired and humbled me. Kerrville helped me discover who I wanted to be as a songwriter and reminded me what music can mean to people.

This song was born on a drive to Kerrville two years before I played it on their stage—and right before I realized how much I would need it in the years to come. Every time someone comes up after a show to tell me how much they needed to hear this song, it reminds me why I love what I do. I love telling stories, making people laugh, making people cry—but more than anything, I love helping people heal.
