Eighth of January
We're only a month away from the 8th of January (a day after my birthday, btw - wishlist in bio 👀) so I'm posting this tune early so that all you mandolin players have time to learn it before the obligatory posting. The version that I wrote out for my #patreon page is more similar to the #bluegrass version that I first heard on a Tony Rice record but in this video I also try to remember the actual melody by humming the lyrics in my head. The tune was originally called Jackson's Victory and commemorated the Battle of New Orleans.
