Amberlyn Aimone performed at the 41st annual World-Championship Old-Time Piano Contest in East Peoria, IL 5-23-2015 in the youth division. This performance of Swipsey and Ragtime Dance are wonderful examples of OMPA's support of young people and their exposure to our musical heritage.
This music festival and contest provides a unique opportunity for young and old to share this wonderful music written prior to 1940. this festival is supported by a State of Illinois nonprofit and is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of this music. This nonprofit relies totally on such support to provide this musical weekend each year which includes seminars, sing-along, live music and offers a riverboat cruise.
