KATIMA, MULILO, 15 JUN (NAMPA) ? Special Field Force (SFF) officers fired teargas
into the crowd of people blocking the Katima Mulilo Municipality gates where they
are staging a protest over land on Monday.
The crowd is demanding to speak to Katima Mulilo Municipality Chief Executive
Officer (CEO), Charles Nawa and chased away Katima Mulilo Mayor, Charles Matengu,
who wanted to ?talk? with them.
An unidentified female protestor told Nampa that they have been waiting for years to
buy plots from the town council but no response has ever been received to
acknowledge their applications.
?We are fed-up with waiting and today we seek answers on why Nawa is delaying to
approve our requests,? she fumed.
