After crash-landing on the dying world of Oros, Vanguard scout Jack Mayor rescues a young girl from a predator. He soon encounters the Funtari, an all-female tribe of bioluminescent beings who are "fading" due to the planet’s aggressive radiation. Jack’s unique, genetically-enhanced physiology acts as a "Resonance Null," providing a stabilizing anchor that restores their physical solidity through touch. To save the tribe, Jack performs an intimate "Anchoring Ritual" with their leader, Butua. After successfully defending the Hive from ancient mechanical "Cullers," Jack chooses to stay. He permanently bonds with Butua through the "Eternal Tether," becoming a protector and bridge between their species.
