This is a weekly test of Daviess County, Kentucky's, Outdoor Warning Sirens which are tested every Friday at 12 Noon. At one point they were going to replace their older, mechanical sirens as well as two 2904s with larger Whelens, presumably Vortexes like the rest of the system. One article said they were going to be voice-capable so 4004s were not out of the question. However, they applied for a Homeland Security grant two years ago to replace the said sirens, but it got denied and the older sirens remain standing.

I went here back during their tornado drill but nothing happened, so I decided to come here again on a nice, sunny Friday a month later. Some of you may remember TheWeatherGuys's (Ian Tate) recording taken a few years ago. Not much has changed aside from the two bird nests that get ejected when the siren winds up. Some birds are gonna be really pissed off. I also tried listening really hard for the mystery siren that fires up in Ian's video. I'm thinking it's a siren hiding in Spencer county somewhere but I didn't hear anything to confirm it.
