when i moved into this tiny brooklyn studio (it's a rental btw), i prioritized the feeling of calm + spaciousness over having stuff. this also dictated how i decorated and the furniture i chose.

i purposefully didn't add much storage furniture to give me as much floor space as possible, meaning no cabinetry, no dresser, and not much multi-use pieces; my ottoman/coffee table does not have storage.

i originally had a larger bed in the living space, where the dining table is now, and the alcove had a large desk where the bed is now. this meant i could use the niched wall as an open drsssing area. i'm incredibly neat, clean + organized so having it open was never an issue. it also cost very little for this set up (i have another reel giving details on how i did it and the cost breakdown). i'd rather spend money on the wardrobe itself than cabinets to hold the wardrobe 🤍

@mujiusa is my favorite source for storage though they sadly don't make the zippered canvas bins anymore. i've had them many many years as well as the drawers in the bathroom which are probably 20+ years old.
