Shirley Caesar is a renowned American gospel singer whose career has spanned seven decades. Born Shirley Ann Caesar-Williams in 1938, she was the tenth child in a family of twelve. Her father was the lead singer in a gospel quartet, and she began singing with him at the age of ten.

Caesar is widely considered to be one of the most influential figures in gospel music, with a career that has touched the lives of millions. She has received 10 Grammy Awards, 12 Stellar Awards, and 17 Dove Awards, but her commitment to her church remains paramount. Caesar is known as "The First Lady of Gospel Music" and "The Queen of Gospel Music".
