The Bihar government has intensified its action against the mining mafia, issuing clear and strict instructions to the police and concerned departments to prevent illegal stone mining across the state.

According to official sources, after the lease period of five stone mines expired, only three stone mines are currently operating legally in Bihar. This situation has increased the risk of illegal mining activities, prompting the Department of Mines and Geology to take immediate action.

To curb unauthorized mining, the department has constituted a Special Flying Squad (Special Task Force). This team has been instructed to conduct regular inspections as well as surprise raids at mines whose leases have expired. The aim is to ensure strict compliance with mining laws and to prevent environmental damage and revenue loss to the state.

Officials have clarified that any involvement in illegal mining will invite strict legal action, and local police have been directed to provide full cooperation during inspections.
