The international Gandhi Mandela Youth Symposium (GMYS) 2020 webinar was held on August 22, 2020. Sarisha Rajen Ramjeawon from South Africa was one of the panelists who addressed an issue affecting people around the world- the Climate Crisis.

Sarisha is enrolled as a Master of Science (Environmental Science) student at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. She graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Environmental Science and in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography.

Since Sarisha's first year as an undergraduate student in 2016, she has been part of the Alliance for Collaboration on Climate and Earth Systems Science (ACCESS) program, contributing to the promotion of science education via hosting workshops and lecturing in South African universities to both local and international students while simultaneously working with local scholars to help them understand the importance of science education. She hopes to continue providing awareness of the current climate crisis.
