Gulaba is a village in the State of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is 27 km away from Manali and 25 km from Rohtang pass. The village is designed and manned as per the guidelines of National Green Tribunal Act. Gulaba has all the relevant equipment and computerized system to ensure good tourism management. Gulaba is a beautiful little village located about 20 km from Manali on the route to Rohtang pass. The captivating site of Gulaba is featured in some scenes from the famous Bollywood movie - Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani making it a favorite amongst picnickers and nature lovers.

Marhi is a "shanty town of roadside restaurants" in Himachal Pradesh, India, located midway between Manali and Rohtang La on the Manali-Leh Highway. Buses traveling the highway often stop in Marhi so passengers can eat. The settlement is seasonal, with most businesses closing for the winter.
As it is located in between Manali and Rohtang Pass, most of the tourists opt to stop and eat food at this place. Also, as Marhi is located on the highway which connects Manali and Leh, the buses which ferries passengers, stop here so that the passengers can refresh and eat food. This settlement is temporary and seasonal, as most of the places are closed in winter season.
You need to get the permit first before you can actually get on the Rohtang Road. The permit can be made online on website rohtangpermit.nic.in and at a nominal fees of 550 INR for a single day.
