Steenhuffel : Sint-Genovevaprocessie op Pinksteren

Met Pinksteren trekt elk jaar de Sint-Genovevaprocessie door de straten van Steenhuffel. Genoveva is de patroonheilige van Steenhuffel.

De processie bestaat uit vier delen: een historisch gedeelte, wereldthema's, de heiligenverering en het sacrale sluitstuk. De laatste jaren werd de processie nog uitgebreid met nieuwe taferelen.

De processie vertrekt (in de regel) aan de Sint-Genovevakerk, waar ook de apotheose plaatsvindt en aansluitend de mis.

Eindelijk , want het was geleden van 2019 door de Coronaperikelen. Gaan jullie mee een kijkje nemen ?

Eng: Every year at Whitsuntide, the St. Genoveva procession passes through the streets of Steenhuffel. Genoveva is the patron saint of Steenhuffel.

The procession consists of four parts: a historical part, world themes, the veneration of saints and the sacred finale. In recent years, the procession has been expanded with new scenes.

The procession usually starts at the St. Genova Church, where the apotheosis also takes place, followed by the mass.
