Welcome to the first in a series of videos where I show you the principals of synth sound design by demonstrating the process of building selected synth sounds and then give examples of playing styles with a little music theory.

This tutorial will show you how to make retro synth pad sounds with a bit of wonky magnetic tape effect thrown in for good measure, first on the Nord Lead hardware synth and then later on U-He's brilliant TyrellN6 plugin which is available for free on Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
