At the 1.5c Youth Climate Film Awards on the evening of 30 April all of the films were commended for sharing their views on climate change, and thanks to a generous donation from Sennheiser we were proud to award a Sennheiser microphone to each youth group involved. In recognition of exceptional elements in six of the films, Keep Scotland Beautiful, Screen Scotland and Take One Action awarded six Special Commendations. The young people involved in producing these films were awarded a £100 voucher for film equipment from Screen Scotland.

The Youth Climate Film Project is an initiative delivered by Keep Scotland Beautiful with funding from the Scottish Government and The National Lottery through Screen Scotland. The YCFP is also supported by Take One Action who will feature the films produced in their film directory. The initiative has involved youth workers attending film-making training so they could support young people to create short films that explore the climate emergency from a young person’s perspective. The films are being screened to stimulate discussion about climate change.
