Asiatic Records’ golden child, RAMENGVRL, made a splash last week dropping her tongue-in-cheek track ‘Onto The Next’. A track which tells the story of her moving on from a relationship that wasn’t worth her time, and it has already picked up wide-spread praise with more than 200,000 combined streams in release week and over a million views on TikTok. Now to add fuel to the fire she today unveils the official music video along with the announcement of her first tour dates across Indonesia since the pandemic.

Behind the shady lyrics of “Onto The Next” is a woman who exudes optimism post-breakup, and is unapologetically aware of her self-worth despite having a partner who wasn’t worth her time nor energy. The music video which has dropped today shows a fictional account of such a relationship with her actual ex-boyfriend (David Beat) playing the role of her ex, who seeks to get her back but is buffed away because she has found a new man.

Ramengvrl’s recently been announced as one of the line up for KV Fest in Jakarta alongside Korean artists Jessi, B.I and fellow Indonesian R&B icon Afgan in August as well as Indonesian Hip-Hop festival FLAVS in September, however this week she kicks off the first run of headline tour dates around Indonesia presented by Martell. Over the coming weeks she’ll touch down in 4 cities across the country and with more dates to be announced both locally and internationally Ramengvrl is not showing any signs of slowing down.

With the backing of strong listenership on DSPs, being named one of Spotify’s EQUAL artists, charting at #5 on LiFTED’s Top Asian Rappers, penning a collaboration with H1GHR Music’s Ph-1, featured in Forbes Indonesia’s 30 Under 30 and not to mention winning several AMI Awards in 2021, RAMENGVRL remains to be unmistakably one to watch.
