Asterion was a powerful Arcanist, and a keeper of the twin towns, which are "Bashal'Aran & Ameth'Aran". He was the second-ranked Highborne after his master Athrikus Narassin in Kalimdor.

Before the Sundering, In the ancient years of Kalimdor, Asterion was a keeper of Bashal'Aran and was also teleporting every period of time to Ameth'Aran just to check on the needs of the second city.

After the Sundering, Asterion was one of the victims, a similar, yet different fate to Sargath that he encountered, and by the same Highborne "Athrikus Narassin" who used a special type of magic to imprison Asterion in the ruins of Bashal'Aran. After Asterion was imprisoned, his ghostly specter realized that his spirit is doomed in the ruins of Bashal'Aran by his former master.

According to the lore of Asterion, and how he was a keeper of two towns, and a powerful Arcanist both physically and magically. It is only expected that he was one of the Ancient Highborne priests, a healer who was teleporting from a city to another to assist the needs of each city.
