The Fool's Traverse covers 11,000ish feet elevation gain over 27ish miles of hiking. That's a lot of ground to going hunting for mimetoliths and interesting tree formations and ents. I found a few that I included in this video like a figure eight on a tree, just after completing 8 peaks. Coincidence? I also found some faces on the "Christmas Tree" on the saddle between Bighorn and Cucamonga Peak. They reminded me of the Comedy and Tragedy Masks of Greek Theatre, and represented for me the two aspect of this Fool's Traverse, the foolish, comical side, and the grueling, bitterness of nausea in your mouth as altitude sickness overcomes you. I have struggled with altitude sickness since I was young and I faced this challenge yet again on this hike. But, I'm not giving up and I will continue to face this challenge and try to become stronger at higher elevations! I was able to complete this challenge when a fellow hiker gave me some Ibuprofen and the nausea was reduced.
