Asked whether Gielgud could be described as his generation's definitive Hamlet, Mills points out that Laurence Olivier was performing the character at the same time, and the two had completely different performances.

Hamnet, Hamlet, William Shakespeare, Chloe Zhao, Paul Mescal, Jessie Buckley, Jacobi Jupe. The film of Hamnet won two Golden Globes in January 2026 including Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama. The film was co-produced by Stephen Spielberg and based on the novel by Maggie O'Farrell.
